I am unable to start the game under Linux. When I start the game I see for a second a small popup window that says 'Preparing to start' Then the game is 'Running' for one second, then 'Syncing' for one second, then nothing comes up.
Edit: Tried running the game manually and got message of missing library: First attempt: djviking@mintaka:/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Tomb Raider/bin./TombRaider./TombRaider: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL2-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I then installed the package libSDL2-20-0-32bit.
Here's yet another tool I've written for TRU: ImportTRULang which makes it possible to replace texts in the game. Here it is: ImportTRULang1.3.zip (And the C# source code for those interested: ImportTRULang1.3Src.zip (Usage: ImportTRULang - Example: ImportTRULang CC33584E0.txt patch.000 patch.000.new -cz Replaces the existing language data inside TRU bigfile.000 or patch.000 with the language data provided in the format generated by UnpackTRU.
The optional language code identifies the language pack to be replaced: -en. English (default) -demo-en. English (TRU DEMO) -fr. Francais -demo-fr. Francais (TRU DEMO) -de. Deutsch -demo-de.
Deutsch (TRU DEMO) -it. Italiano -demo-it.
Italiano (TRU DEMO) -es. Espanol -demo-es.
Espanol (TRU DEMO) -nl. Nederlands -demo-nl. Nederlands (TRU DEMO) -pl. Russian Since the program is written in C# you'll need Microsoft.NET Framework (to run it. The workflow is as follows: 1) Use my program UnpackTRU (to export the language files from the game: UnpackTRU bigfile.000 -lang Pick the English language file (7CD333D3.txt). 2) Make changes to the texts in that file. Each text entry is surrounded by brackets.
You can change the text inside the brackets the way you want, just make sure not to delete any entries or to change their order. 3) Rename bigfile.000 to bigfile.000.orig or something like that. 3) Use ImportTRULang to rebuild the TRU bigfile using the edited version of the language file (7CD333D3.txt): ImportTRULang 7CD333D3.txt bigfile.000.orig bigfile.000 This command uses bigfile.000.orig as the source and generates a new file bigfile.000.
4) Run the game to see the changes you've made. If you updated the game to v1.1 (using the official patch), then instead of working with the file bigfile.000, you need to work with the file patch.000 which contains an updated version of the the text files: ImportTRULang 7CD333D3.txt patch.000.orig patch.000 The nice thing about the patched version of TRU is that when you rebuild the file patch.000 with ImportTRULang, it's only 20 MB of data (a matter of seconds) while if you rebuild the original (unpatched) bigfile.000, it's approx. 2 GB of data that has to be generated each time you want to change something.
So my advice is to update to TRU v1.1 and work with the much smaller file patch.000. I'm posting a few screenshots with Czech translations of some texts in the game that I made for testing purposes.
I don't expected anyone here to appreciate my Czech translations:), this is just to demonstrate that it actually works:) http://www.volny.cz/pavlicd/ImportTRULang/translation3.jpg. I don't expected anyone here to appreciate my Czech translations:), this is just to demonstrate that it actually works:) wohoooooo dalsi cech:yah. Actually, there is an official Czech translation available. I bought the English version before the Czech translation was in stores because I prefer the English version and I didn't want to wait any longer. So, technically speaking, there's no need to make yet another Czech translation because there's already the official one. But I just wanted to demonstrate how my program works so I decided to translate a few bits of text to Czech myself, just for the fun of it:). Lol it seems to be a cool language:D i've been to Prague and Bohemia some years ago:p btw at least this could be usefull to correct some subtitle mistakes:P in the italian version there is a very serious one (of subtitle and dubbing too), i cannot tell what it is 'cause it's a shame. Yes And what OS do you have?
Windows Vista? This is most likely Vista-related error. I don't think there's anything wrong with my program. I searched 'program stopped working in vista' on Google and found a lot of pages discussing this particular problem.
You probably need to run the program in Win XP SP2 compatibility mode. See this link, for example: I can't help you more on this since I don't have Windows Vista myself (for good reasons:)). EDIT: Yet another link I found that may be useful: http://ablestmage.wordpress.com/2008/01/25/disabling-vistas-dep-data-execution-prevention/. Hi Dusan, Applied official patch v1.1 of TRU.
I trying to export text from ENG version and everything is OK. Trying export texts from PL/CZ/HU version (also with applied patch 1.1) but no txt files was extracted. Then i try to compile UnpackTRU from source codes and uncomment method ProcessUnknownInBigfile to save also unknown files, and when i view content of this unknown file, there are some texts from game(in czech lang), but also other binary data, i think it is mix of 2 or more different files. Here is ZIP (where are 3 unknown files (one for each language) which are exported from PL/CZ/HU version of patch.000. Can you check it where can be problem and fix it if you can? It's because the language files are detected by their hashcode (hard-coded) and the hashcode is different in the PL/CZ/HU version of the game so the program doesn't find anything. Thanks for the language files you uploaded. I released an updated version of UnpackTRU (v1.8) that should also be compatible with the PL/CZ/HU version of TRU. Download it and try it: I'll release an updated version of ImportTRULang later.

Thanks again, i'll try it later this evening if it works, and i'm also waiting to updated version of ImportTRULang. The font files are: EN: B3AAAFD60006D.dds.bmp PL: DD8A64DB0006D.dds.bmp (as extracted by UnpackTRU from bigfile.000 and/or patch.000) They are PCD9/DDS textures stored inside of (C)DRM packages B3AAAFD6 and DD8A64DB respectively. Replacing the entire (C)DRM package may be a way rather than changing the font within the package.
Replacing the CDRM package is technically the same thing as replacing language files (they are just a different type of packages within the bigfiles) so you can try it if you want. I know that the dialogues are together with the MUL files. Dusan is some progress on the edition of that dialogue. I am from Brazil and formed a team to translate the game, have translated all text file 7CD333D3.txt, but no dialogue was translated. I know that there are few dialogues, page below with all the dialogues of the game: We would like to make a complete translation, seeing that so lack these dialogues. One more thing to file A58F6E5C0.other there is a dialogue, is to import this file??
Mta sa maps. ---Edit From the wiki looks like its HW based. I think I'm looking at the server code, can you link the client? But it still looks like its created when your account is created. The serial is generated in netc.dll which is not opensource because of the RakNet license. ---Edit Thats the client but I dont see any login / account code.
Hugs and congratulations. I know that the dialogues are together with the MUL files. Dusan is some progress on the edition of that dialogue. Hi, mul2wav is DarkFader's program that seems to be no longer actively developed. DarkFader never released the program's source codes for other programmers to continue working on it instead of him. I personally don't know the format of the MUL files so I cannot write any tools for them. The file A58F6E5C0 seems to only contain subtitles for the short cutscene summarizing the story from Legend. So from the point of view of Underworld it's not really important. Hi nice work this was just what i was looking for.thanx for that I extracted the language text files edited them.
But how do i inject them back to the bigfile.000 ImportTRUlang is not working in my system. A cmd window is flashing and i am back to my desktop. I am on vista 32bit. And i have.netfeamework 3.5 installed. Can any one help me to make this programme work (ImportTRUlang.exe) any help will be appreciated ImportTRUlang.exe is a command line program. You need to open a command line window (console) first. In Windows, use Start Run and then type cmd.
A black window should appear. Inside of the command line window you need to change the current directory to the directory in which your TRU big files are stored (using the cd DOS command). If anyone makes a rough translation, I'll check Underworld compatibility.
Im brazilian and i tryed years ago translating tr legend but it was so huge i couldnt do it alone myself, after translating 1 million files, my eyes were the hell tired and i just got headache everyday so i gave the job to other ppl to do. Id like to translate tr underworld but is it that hard.?
Otherwise ill just give up because its too much time i put on it all by myself when im very busy woman, im just a fan anyway. It is depending on games' EULA. In the trl, tra and tru EULA english file said this: 2. Replacing the CDRM package is technically the same thing as replacing language files (they are just a different type of packages within the bigfiles) so you can try it if you want. Dusan, I upgrade translator for TRU, and i try to find the way to extract font file from game.
(In TRA/TRL font file was raw file with alpha channel), and - as you said - in TRU it is a texture file. So, I examined CDRM files, and I found some interesting things: 1, you can extend files (to next 2048 (0x800) boundary), but you need to update length of file in FAT (I tested with subtitles when we created first version of translator for TRA). 2, because CDRM containers store number contained of files and length of files, you have 2 way to extend them: 1, all file starts in 16 bytes (0x10) boundary, so remaining space can be used freely (you can need to update 'sub-file' length in cdrm header. 2, you can extend CDRM file (to 2048 bytes boundary), and then you have to push remaining data to end of cdrm file. +1, (experimental) you can append full cdrm file to end of last bigfile, and update FAT to new location. +2, (most experimental) create a new bigfile, and set file location in FAT to new BF's first byte.
Dusan, I am trying to use ImportTRULang with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, but it fails:( The resulting bigfile.000.new is always identical to the original one. I even have tried it with -en param, but no luck. ImportTRULang.exe 7CD333D3.txt bigfile.000 bigfile.000.new -en Can you give a look? Thanks a lot. This is not surprising, ImportTRULang is only compatible with TRU and TRU demo version. Guardian of Light certainly uses a unique set of hashcodes for its language files which ImportTRULang doesn't know of.
I don't have access to GoL data files so I'm not able to figure out those hash codes and to update ImportTRULang accordingly. What the. Indeed, what the.:mis: Have you read the instructions? The tool is a command line program and needs to be passed some parameters to, e.g.: ImportTRULang abracadabra.txt bigfile.000.orig bigfile.000 This command tells the tool to translate the original bigfile.000 (named bigfile.000.orig) to Abracadabra language (using abracadabra.txt file) and write the translated data to bigfile.000 (named the same).:p Oh, well sorry for the waste of time. I don't know crap about command line programs.:tea: And I have NO IDEA how to use it. Place the program to the same folder where bigfiles are.
Go to Start Run, type in CMD and press Enter. In Command Window enter the full path to the big files, e.g.: 'cd C: Program Files Eidos Tomb Raider Underworld' w/o quotes. Then enter the command in the following format: ImportTRULang abracadabra.txt bigfile.000 bigfile.000.translated This command tells the tool to translate the original bigfile.000 to Abracadabra language (using abracadabra.txt file) and write the translated data to bigfile.000.translated (named the same). Backup your original bigfile.000 (move it to some safe location), then rename bigfile.000.translated to bigfile.000. It would work if not for this evil error.
ImportTRULang has stopped working. I know why. I don't have abracadabra.txt. Each language version of the game has its own unique ID code (a number inside the data files) which is more or less random.
The program then uses this ID code during its operation so that the game can recognize the language data correctly. That's why the program only supports some language versions of the game because I only had access to a limited number of language versions of the game from which I was able to extract the required ID codes.
I don't know the Turkish ID code, sorry. One more thing. Read the post above. I can't change subtitles.
Only menu texts can be changed.

Solution: First try to run the setup as administrator if that doesn’t work and you are still encountering this error make sure that you have 25GB free space on your hard drive. “I tried to install the game two times and every time I get an error saying something like disk write error. Please, someone, help me fix this!” 4) Rise of the Tomb Raider Low FPS, FPS issues like low fps, fps drops and freezing are encountered by quite a lot of players. This is mainly due to the fact that the game is not properly optimized. To fix these issues follow the tutorial below. “Played 1 hour yet. I have frame drops from 80 fps to 3 in some part of the game.
The game isn´t good optimized. It´s not game-breaking, but it´s pretty annoying!” “I have 15-22 fps at max and 23-32 fps with low, but I can run MGS5 with 45 fps at high, war thunder at 90 at high and WOT with 70 on max, so how is it possible that this game has super low FPS? I can play every game out now, but one of my most waited games sucks. Any solutions?” Solution: To solve this issue, update your PC’s graphics cards drivers. It has helped users to resolve the problem.
Also apply the tips from the game developers and use our patch, below: If your system is having performance issues when playing the game, please adjust your graphics AND display settings. For example; the anti-aliasing settings SSAAx2 and SSAAx4 are very expensive features, so if you are lowering your graphics settings do not forget to set anti-aliasing back to FXAA. Also consider playing at a lower resolution. Doing this helps improve game performance and you might be able to trade back up to a slightly higher graphics settings because of these adjustments. Also note that textures at Very High requires over 4GB of VRAM, and using this on cards with 4GB or less can cause extreme stuttering during gameplay or cinematics. This notice does not encompass all performance issues, but it will help some of you.
